    Checking speed control on router??

I have a Crapsman a.k.a Craftsman variable speed router that has crapped out on me. It is model 315.175110 and is identical to the Ryobi router that has its share of problems. I have had it about 2 yrs and has had little use. I keep it set up for the Craftsman boxjoint jig so I don't have to reinstall the bushing and recenter the big.

I was using it today and it first acted like the power was going off/on real quick. It then finally quit. I checked the switch and bypassed it but no luck.

Looking at the wiring diagram, I am wondering if it could be the speed control. I would like to know what wire(s) would you jump to bypass the switch. My thought is that if it works, then I have a bad switch.

I don't want to take it in since they would probably charge more for repair then what I originally paid for it.

    TIA

I checked the brushes and they looked OK. I totally bypassed speed control switch and it runs OK, at full speed.

Now, I just need to decide if I want to fix it for $24 + S&H or try make a permenant fix and run at full speed all the time.

if you aren't using bits over 3/4" to 1" then full speed is all you need.
