DeWalt 618PK Sub-Base Screw Size

Does anyone know what size machine screws are used to attach the sub-base to the DeWalt 618PK router? I couldn't find it in the user manual, but want to mount the router to my Craftsman 21829.

Also, has anyone built a router mounting plate specifically for the Craftsman? I'm trying to avoid drilling holes in the table and am crafting a plate instead. Any lessons learned that you can share?

I looked at them briefly when I got the router, IIRC they're 4mm which is a really odd size considering I've got quite a few sets of baseplate screws layin' around, but had none to fit the DeWalt.

If I remember, I'll try to check again at lunch and confirm that size.

I checked at lunch, 4mm is NOT it. According to Delta's website they're 8-32, that doesn't sound right to me but I'm back at work and can't confirm.

Thanks for checking! I may just have to take a screw into my local hardware store & do a visual to find a size that matches. It'd be nice if DeWalt would publish this information in the router manual.

I checked again tonight while I was out in the shop, they are indeed 8-32.

Excellent... thanks, Thom. I also just found the parts list on DeWalt's site and see that they list the screws as 8-32 as well. I had trouble finding that previously.

Now the big challenge is constructing a base that will allow the bit to protrude through the 21829 high enough to be useful. It appears 1/2-inch plywood is too thick; I may need to machine some aluminum with holes to allow the nipples to fit through them and minimize the gap between the table and the plate.

Or... I could just build my own separate router table. :-)
