    What Wine With Crow?

I am on record as being down on Harbor Freight. Last week I picked up a Chicago Electric 7" polisher/sander to do the grinding on my counters. The store was much cleaner and more orderly than the last time I was there. The more expensive sander was on sale for the same price as the cheaper one. It worked like a champ and now I have a new sander. I only wish it had a handle off to the side as my angle grinder does, instead of a handle that goes over the top. I would get a bit more leverage this way.

    Hey David

Does that mean you're down on HF, like good or down on HF, like bad? If bad, is that bad bad or good bad?

    Gotta love the English language.

I think BUD. goes better with crow, you want to drown out the taste of the bird.

That is down as in bad bad. The last time I dealt with them was a few years ago. The store was a mess, help was non existent. Eventually I managed to figure out the store did not stock what I wanted. I ordered it online and it took a month to get to me. Around the same time my dad got a few tools from them that all had to be exchanged or returned for various defects.

This time around the store was clean, much better organized and there was lots of help.

              Eating Crow

              From my experience?

              Just chew it quietly.

It doesn't taste too bad that way.

Cheer up - we have all done it, some (like you) are just more honest.

I'll say a good beer (Bud Light is mine). You need a real mans drink, not that sissy wine stuff.

Glad to see you gave them another chance.

I would suggest Grapa. 1 or 2 shots and you don't care what your eating.

You might even crow about the meal. (Did I really type that?)

Not sure I am going to run out and get anything major at HF yet, but at least I will consider them for future purchases

Maybe he meant a real mans drink, for a man watching his figure!

The biggest thing I've purchased from HF is my 4x8 foot fold-up trailer. It took a long time to assemble but works great. For anything involving lots of metal and not too much technology, I don't worry about HF. I also buy little stuff from them (including tape measures) and have been pleasantly surprised by the quality. I also bought a tool to read and reset OBD II trouble codes in cars from HF for $50 thinking I would take it straight back if it worked as I feared it might but it is great! You can even read the manual. I have also had unpleasant experiences with their tools but their return policy is good and their prices great so I keep going back. Not planning to use them as a source for my table saw or other main equipment but for the odds and ends, they are a good way to go IMHO. I have given up on the mail order route, however, with HF because of extremely slow service (I expect internet orders at my house in less than a week, HF could barely do a month).
