Best 110v Single Stage Dust Collector

Is there any consensus on a particular model that you don't have to upgrade with bags or filters, neutral vanes, or other mods? I'm looking for best performance out of the box hooked to single tool with about 5 feet of hose.

I personally like the Jet cannister filter DC1100 1 1/2 hp. It's on sale at Rockler for 399$ with a remote.

I just looked it says $549. OR is there some rebate code you need to enter?

If your going to buy a DC, and not make any modifications. Make sure you get one that has bags / canisters / filters that goes down to 1 micron (or better). Most bags out of the box, on the lower end stuff, only go down to 30 micron.

Got the HF DC for $129 on sale, the Wynn cartridge for $70, and clear bags for $20. Total $219. Added a remote from Ace Hardware for $15. Beats the price of the JET.

What model of HF DC did you get? Is that 94029-6VGA or other one? Thanks!

No, the 45378-0VGA 2HP dust collector, often goes on sale. Latest price I've seen was $169.

Note that the washable (and darn near indestructible) filter at $130 filters to 1 micron, which in the average home shop is good enough per Dr. Wynn. The paper filter goes down to 0.5 microns, harder to keep clean, can't be washed, and eventually has to be replaced.

BTW, the clear bags he sells are darn hard to get on! Penn State Industries sells slightly larger bags that go on quick.

I'm leaning towards the Delta 50-760 that comes with a 1 Micron bag. The Delta site did not list amperage. Anyone know if it will work well on a 15 amp circuit?

It will work on a 15amp circuit. The motor is rated at 15amps and works great out of the box. I bought this last july from amazon for $218.60 shipped. I can only say good things about this DC unit, it was rated the best overall and best value IIRC in FWW for it's class last year. I've used it with my ridgid planer and planed about 200 bf of cedar and sucked up every last bit.

The reviews I've read have rated the Delta tops in the 110v class. Most folks are happy with whichever one they get.

Thanks Ryan. My porter cable compressor is suppose to work on a 15 amp circuit too, and it does until it cycles which is when it trips the breaker. Just hoping that I don't have a similar problem with the DC. It now is my next item when a good sale comes along.
