Is anyone interested in an Aircraft Sized jointer ? I'm not kidding here this thing is a monster! I saw it today at at friend's cabinet shop...he has had it
sitting in the shop for at least 20 years and has never set it up to operate.
Needed the room so it has been moved outside for now.
It has some surface rust on it and needs restoring to make it operational.
( nothing serious on the rust problem)
On the front it says AMER.... name was partially coved with something,
This jointer is all cast iron and steel....no cheap stuff here, built in USA
when they really built heavy duty machines!
The bed on this rabbetting jointer is ....depth (front to back) 21"
bed length overall: is 86" long (over 7' long)
weight estimated at 2000 lbs. or possibly more.
motor...very large probably weighs 150-200 lbs. and has 3 v-type drive belts
under the cover/ guard that would be at least 4'-5' in length!
I'm guessing here that motor is either 220 v or 440v 3 phase don't know
for sure at least 10 or more hp. by the way it does have the cast iron fence
and cutter knives installed on it and a magnetic starter switch!
