    Jet Slow Speed Wet Sharpener

Does anyone have the new Jet sharpener (clone of the Tormek) ? I am sort of on the edge (err, the dull edge) here on this. Currently it is still available with a few "extras" for the $299 price. That still to me is a lot of $$, but, when I consider the lay out of a set of water stones or what not, the price isn't all that far off, esp if this thing really works and takes care of all of my sharpening. Sure would be nice to have some sharp tools for a change. I do some turning, and have a few planes, and chisels, figure if I could put a razor edge on things easily I may migrate to more hand tools. Is this thing the cat's meow , or, is it overkill, and or, should I just hold off for the Tormek..

Well, IMHO it is he cat's meow. Much better value than the Tormek, especially with the included free extras. I bought one last month and now all my chisels and plane blades now have a nice, almost too sharp edge. Can't say much re: turning tools since I don't have any, but you apparently need to buy other accessories for that so the price goes up.

Used to do the scary-sharp thing and that worked well, but very slow and not as sharp as the JET.

I have had one for about 2 months now. I looked at the tormek for a long time but thought the price was just a bit high. When Rockler had the Jet for 300.00 with the free drawer and cover I jumped on it. The Tormek acc. will work with the jet, so if you can not find what you need from one the other may have it. I have the flat table, and the turning tool acc from jet. Can't compar how the differ from tormek but they do the job for me as far as sharpening turning tools
