Kreg R2 or R3

I received a R2 for Christmas (which I asked for) and am wondering now if the R3 is better. I liked the R2 because the R3 didn't come with a clamp. Other then the spacer and the R3's ability to center more thicknesses I don't see much difference. The case would be nice but I could make my own storage case.

Those who have the R3, do you need a clamp? A Kreg clamp is around $12 and that puts the R3 at about the same price. I just can't seem to understand why the R3 doesn't come with a clamp.

Which do you think is the better kit R2 or R3?

I've got the full set. My advice is go with what you have, build a nice case, leaving room for the clamp. Get the clamp when you have a use for it. I have yet to use the clamp.
