    craftsman 14" BS

    Well instead of waiting until Christmas I assembled my Band Saw today. They can still put a ribbon on it in 9 days... It took just about two hours to put together. Had I actually read the directions I probably could have shaved a little time off. The base cabinet took 45 minutes. then I started to read the instructions...And If I would have used the table instead of sitting on the ground that would have sped it up. I also had my son help me lift it onto the base.

    I did turn it on a make a little saw dust...I also got the bearing guides adjusted a little....I will have to take the book out and go through everything to make sure its tweaked properly.....It was pretty squeeky at first....When I moved one of the guides it got much better....

    I'll post more about it later but it went though some 3/4" oak like butter....

    Congratulations. I have the same model. Its a nice saw. I think you will be very pleased. Glad your son in law was availabe to help you. It's a heavy sucker.

    I put mine a mobile base from General. Works great.

      Virginia is not *that* far from Indiana. Santa must be getting old if he's leaving stuff in Virginia already. Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. Congrats on the new toy.
