Mao Shan, anyone heard of them?

There's a used table saw available in my area, but I've never heard of this brand. Looking for anyone that has and their recommendation.

It sounds like they make the HF tablesaws, among others.

Yes they mainly manufacture tools, and vendors apply their name plate to them. I believe Rod Kirby has one of their saws.

Yeah...they make lots of saws for brandnames we know and love. That scene changes frequently, so I'm not positive but I think they still make saws for Grizzly, GI, Bridgewood, Sunhill, Woodtek, and possibly even the Jet/PM, as well as several Canadian brands.

You don't see many here under the name Mao Shan though...it's likely 10-15 years old and made in Taiwan.

I now make splitters that fit at least one model of this saw and it was nearly identical to the Grizzly 0444Z. The splitter and it's mount were the same.
This model was sold by HF at one time.

Hey Rod, does that saw have its motor inside the cabinet, or hanging out the back?

And how does it handle dust collection, is there a shroud?

                Phil -

Motor is inside the cabinet (sticks out on the left) - the gray cover swings open.

DC has a bottom shroud - here is the back of the mobile base before it was complete:

Be careful, that saw may only run in the cleanest of conditions. Rod is the only one I know who has one and we all know his has never been tested in "real life conditions"
