    hf dp-not available in stores?

I just called HF northwest of Atlanta to see if the had 44836 in stock and was told that it was catalog or internet only. I've never been in a HF before, is this typical?

    Thanks,

    Jim

    Jim,

It depends on the store. Did you call the Lilburn store? You need to go to one, allow plenty of time though, it is an experience!

I was originally looking at that model, and the HF near me (Newark, DE) didn't stock that model either. Since I had a 20% off a single item, and the bigger benchtop (44836) was on sale, I went home with it instead. It's possible that other stores may have it, I don't know. The bigger one is nice though.

It's been my experience that if the product comes up at the HF retail website it is stocked at the retail stores or they can order it for you. On the other hand there are items that are only available through the catalog website.

Last year, I almost stopped using their catalog. I had a 50% rate of finding stuff at the stores.
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

Called Kennesaw and after they gave me the news I asked if it was that way at all stores and they said yes. Tried calling Lilburn but they had closed for the evening. Have you seen drill presses in the Lilburn store?

You referenced the same model I mentioned, is that the one you have or did you mean the 16 speed heavy duty that is around $180?

            Thanks,
            Jim

Do you happen to remember what it usually goes on sale for?

                Thanks,

Yes the Lilburn store has drill presses but I am not sure if it has that one.

Are you interested in a table top model of floor model. I bought a Hitachi new DP B16RM which is a floor model at Lowes a while back and it is a great dp. I think it was about $150. I know they still have one.

The 43389 used to go on sale for $179 but the best I've seen lately is $199

.... tack on a 15 or 20% off coupon and it's still a very good deal. I have this press and I'm VERY happy with it.
