    HF Quick Release Clamps Slipping

Just noticed that some of my HF Quick Release clamps slip. Not very good for gluing things up. Did a search but couldn't find any remedy, anyone have a fix?

    Thanks!

Make sure the bars are clean, some have a slight layer of oil on them. Something like paint thinner to cut thru the oil will help.

Nikki's solution will also work in getting the oil off.

I had a set that I cleaned several times, then one day I took one of those green scouring pads to it, figured I had nothing to lose. I can say it work MUCH better now. Been tempted to do it to more of my clamps.

Thanks for the suggestions. Think I'll try the scouring pad first, if that doesn't do it, I'll break out the sandpaper. But 80 grit will have to do, haven't needed a 40 grit in any of my projects yet.

Buy some QGs. I would say you get what you pay for, but any price is too much for those things, they're the worst kind of junk.
