OK, Lathe question - Grizzly H2669 Hobby

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...415887-5848155

I know it's not a "real" lathe, but then again I've never used a real one. I have a pretty darn good (Milwaukee) drill to run it. But is it worth it to "try," "experiment," or just "fool around?"

    Anyone used this????

Doc I think you'd outgrow it in about a week. I havn't seen a drill that would spin as fast as need be for pens and other small spindle work and even a Milwaukee I'm not sure is built for that kind of continuous duty.
This turning thing is both addictive and expensive. The lathe being the "lest expensive" part of the whole deal. It's a very slippery slope Pat
Woodworking is therapy.....some of us need more therapy than others. <ZERO>

I don't think I would bother. I can't see any use for that other than maybe pens. Besides most drills will croak if operated continuously. I tjink a better choice might be that Wilton (or now PerformaX) lathe Menards sometimes has on sale for below (or around) $90.

Unquestionably, unequivocally, definitely, absolutely, without doubt, finally, NO!

Sorry to be so vague, Paul.
