Ridgid EB4424 BOSS sander

looking at getting an oscilating spindle/edge belt sander primarily for sanding bandsaw boxes at this time. Any suggestions?

I have the eb4424 and like it with one exception, the knob on top the spindles is bigger than the smaller spindles. This prevents using the small spindles on bandsaw boxes (unless they are less than ~3" deep) as the knob contacts the item being sanded

I wish I'd gone with something with a longer spindle for bandsaw boxes.

I'm thinking about getting the Ridgid EB4424. Out of curiosity, can a smaller knob be put on?? Or is it some kind of strange thread?

You could take off the knob and put on a nut instead. It's a left-hand metric thread - McMaster-Karr sells a bunch of them but I've not figured out which thread it is yet to order it.
