cordless calking gun

Hey fellas-

I see a ton of calking in my some what near future and am considering getting a corless powered calking gun. Have any of ya'll used one? And, my drill is a 14.4 dewalt, if I clould find a 14.4 dewalt gun, then I can use the same batteries and what not. Any and all advice, as always, would be greatly appriciated.

I don't know if many have them left, but HD was closing out the rigid 18v caulk guns about a month ago for $79 iirc. I know nothing about them, but might be worth looking for.

Ryobi 18 volt caulk gun

I would highly recommend the ryobi 18 volt unit with its ever expanding power tool collection (I just picked up a decent radio not super loud but uses the same battery and its digital tuning not the cheapo linear radio tuners that you have to fiddle with to get the exact station pretty cool) anyway I used the ryobi to caulk in about 10 tubes of thick driveway crack filler before sealing my driveway for the winter and without this tool my hand would be crippled. The caulk gun also has a variable speed depending on how thick the caulk is and how fast you can lay it in the crack..

I have the Ryobi One+ 18V gun. I picked it up to help with some retrofit windows. It works great. I've been very pleased with it. As rman says it's variable speed and you need to be careful to start slow and then move faster if you need it. It's way easy to use too much caulk.

Does the Ryobi one come with the batery and charger. The reason behind this is we just added (and are still working on it) 950sqft to the house. I am handeling all the painting, and the exerior is hardie plank. Theres a lot of freakin boards to calk. Couple that with the inside also, and I think I can justify a chordless one. I checked ryobis web site under the "one" catagory and couldn't find a link to one, but they obvouisly make one, so it looks like a trip to the store is in order. Thanks for the input fellas, and I am still a few days or so off from getting one, so keep those sugestions comming.

And no, it doesn't come with a battery. But two 18v for $35 can't be beat. (Two DeWalt 18v are $119 at Amazon) Ouch.

I believe Ryobi is the only one that make one now that the Ridgid seems to be a thing of the past.
