why is BT3100 not listed @ryobi.com?

Why is the BT3100 not listed at Ryobi Tools website?
    Who sells this saw?
    Please....what is going on?
It's not listed at Amazon, and I can't find a
    dealer that sells the saw.
It was discontinued at Home Despot, and there are none
    in stock?
If I can't find one, I'll buy the Rigid 3650 and make a
    cut off sled.

I'm a new member, and haven't found this info anywhere
on your forums...my apologies if I simply haven't looked in
the right place and this is an old question.

First of all, welcome to the forum.

Although to my knowledge there has been no official, press-release-type announcement from Ryobi, production of the BT3100 table saw has been discontinued. There have been a few reports of a VERY few still showing up here and there, but for the most part the pipeline has pretty well dried up and you'll be lucky to find one.

Ryobi power tools are sold exclusively at Home Depot. You will see stuff like their string trimmers and maybe their lawn mowers elsewhere, but for shop and carpentry tools, HD is the only place to buy them.

      Welcome to the community, Robopox!

Ryobi BT3100 Saw is sold by HOMEDEPOT AKA BORG

Don't know what state you are from but if you happen to be in Illinois there are still two BT3100 left at the Carpentersville/Dundee Il Home Depot store.

Finelle's just posted on the bargain alert section that there's some left at the Aurora, IL HD Store.

      Good luck bud!

        Thank you, sir.
guess it's the Rigid 3650 for me.
        I appreciate you quick reply.

        Sorry to see this happen.
        The 3100 was intellectually appealing....
but "discontinued" leads to far too many
problems with service, repair, and parts access.
        again, Thank you.

You can still get service and parts for a great many tools that have been discontinued long ago. Heck, I was able to locate parts for a 20+ year old Rockwell CS. So don't let that part of the deal scare you.

You will probably have more luck locating leftover units in urban areas where most people live in apartments and don't have room for a TS - these stores move large power tools very slowly. I got an HD in basement of the very same building I work in (Manhattan 59th & 3rd) and I believe they got a couple BT3100s left. The two HDs near my home in NJ are out.

I wish I would have known about the remaining BTs in IL, I have friends there and could have gotten it that way.

            Robopox,
I think the term 'discontinued' is a little misleading in this case. Ryobi knew how great of a saw they were making.....so did Craftsman. Ryobi's factorys are still turning out the machines- they just happen to be wearing Craftsman furniture.
I looked at the BT owner's manual and my Craftsman one and it looks like all of the major parts are identical. If something breaks on your 'discontinued' BT it doesn't mean you can't get a replacement- it just means you order the part from Sears instead of Ryobi. Who knows, if they're still making the saw, Ryobi may see fit to keep parts in stock to service their own branded saw for years to come.

If you really want the BT, find one of the Ryobis or buy the Craftsman....a table saw is pretty important and you shouldn't settle for your second choice.

I believe that the model that is made for Sears is still available. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Jumping into the price range and category of the Ridgid opens up several other possibilities too. The Ridgid is a nice example of a $550 contractor saw, but it's still a 50 year old contractor saw design with an outboard motor and a host of obstacles that are associated with that design. There are several newer "hybrids" that are similar in size, power, and duty rating, but that feature internally mounted motors and full enclosures. They offer several advantages in the area of space savings, improved dust collection, more mass, shorter drive belt, and no worries of the motor hitting something...the upside is that there's really no downside. There are good examples from Jet, Delta, Craftsman, GI, Grizzly, and Sunhill starting at ~ $400 .
