    Grinder/Sander

I know I should ask questions before I buy but we've determined that I'm an impulse shopper.
Picked up this unit a couple days ago for $149.

What I'm wondering is if I should just use the sander for sharpening (Sorby jig) or is a 6" wheel turning at 3450 RPM going to be OK for lathe tools and other grinding requirements.
I was thinking possibly an 8" VS grinder might be more suitable.

    Thoughts?

For what it's worth, the turning guru at the local Woodcraft says he sharpens all his lathe tools on a 1" belt sander. The only time he uses a grinder is if he's changing the bevel on a tool a great deal of if a tool gets dropped. Pat
