    Herc-u-lift and Delta BS

I'm installed my $14.70 on my Delta BS150LS BS. Has anyone done this? If so can you shared how you mount the Herc-ulift to the bandsaw?

    Delta Bandsaw with HurcuLift

I also bought one for my Delta bandsaw. After several hours and several drilled holes, I packaged the HurcuLift back up and returned it to HD. I also have a BT3000 and asked here if anyone had successfully mounted one to it and recieved no answers. So I just returned it to HD. I did have success mounting one to my radial arm saw and my miter saw base. Both took some work but the bandsaw and BT3000 wasn't happening, at least for me!

Good Luck and let us know if you figure it out!

I looked at the saw on Amazon and the lift should work fine. Do you want me to take a picture of my install on the Ridgid?

Please do, Ken. I'm considering putting one under my Grizzly G0555 BS (a semi-enclosed stand, so a bit more involved) and would like a little inspiration or a reality check.

Perhaps too late now, Ken, but I had no problems putting one on my BT3 with some of the tips on this forum (e.g. copying numbers from the table onto the figure a few pages ahead to eliminate incessant flipping). Various posts indicated the subset of directions to follow (it may have been the generic 32" by 32" instructions, but I cannot recall for certain).

Ok I took a couple of pictures and will try to explain a bit. The first picture is of the Herc-U-Lift in the up position from the side of the saw. As you can see I had to remove the side support in order for the lift to function properly but it has had no adverse affect on the saws operation and the stand is still Ridgid (ok bad pun, get over it!)

This is a picture on the lift in the up position from the operator’s side. As you can see I needed to attach pieces to the outsides of the legs. Now I think this is done so that the “Wheel Base” of the lift is a bit wider on such a narrow stand. My stand is 26-1/2” wide by 17” deep and this saw is very top heavy so putting the legs inside of the stand would make it much less stable moving around.

Now the kit also comes with some C shaped brackets that were used on the tablesaw and would be used when the stand is setup inside instead of outside like here. The brackets here are easy to put on as they screw on under the leveler feet and then into the side of the frame. You would probably need to drill the top hole for it. In playing with the stand I found the dimensions were not critical as long as the top section fit inside the bottom section when lifted. The Tablesaw manual for installation was better and it said to keep all blots loose until it was installed and lifted into place and then at that point tighten everything up.

Hope that helps a bit. I think it was worth the effort.

I have the Hitachi BS CB13F mounted to the Hercu-lift Plus. I used an el cheapo camera for this shot, hoping to get a decent one for Christmas.
Anyway I hope the picture will be of some help.

Installed Herculift on Delta 150LS Bandsaw

              Handy Al,
I have the same Delta bandsaw and installed the Herculift. I did not use the "special" bandsaw brackets but instead installed the lift brackets directly to the legs. Because one of the supports is in the way when the "pedal" goes up for the saw to sit on the floor, you kinda have to shake the saw a little to get the casters to move to the right position for the saw to sit all the way down. I installed some wood triangles of quarter inch ply on the bottom of the original saw feet so that it sits quicker and easier. Also, the legs of the stand are not as wide as the standard Ridgid stand so the holes for the brackets are near the edge of the metal. This is not a problem for me because I will not be moving the saw every day.
