Problem with Quick Clamps

I have a small collection of Irwin Quick Clamps that I have found very useful. However I am starting to run into a problem. It seems that after a while the clamps no longer hold in certain positions. I can actually feel them slip back after I try to tighten them. Things don't stay too well clamped under these conditions.

Has anyone else had this problem? Have you found a cure for it?

I think you have worn away parts of wither the bar or the clutch that holds the clamps in position. you might be able to get a replacement part for cheap.

Why spend the money on cheap replacement parts. The ones I bought from BORG claim to have a lifetime warrenty. In fact the Irwin Web Page says they do have a lifetime warrenty, just take them back to where you bought them.

I've taken several back to HD already for the same issue. I drop mine off at the returns counter, and they let me get a replacment off the shelf and away I go.

Interesting. I've had a few of the quick clamps go bad over time. I'll have to look into that warrenty.

What if you don't have the original reciept? Will HD just exchange it anyway?
