What kind of paint sprayer do I need?

If we ever sell our townhouse in MD we'll be moving to an older house in Thomasville, PA with a small barn out back. The house is in great shape (needs new porch railing and that's about it) but the barn has really been neglected. Some of the siding will need replaced and all of it definitely needs painting.

I've tried one of the Wagner electric spray guns in the past and hated it. I have a small HF air compressor but don't mind "having" to upgrade it for this project.

    Any ideas?

For a job like that I would rent an electric srayer that sits draws from a 5 gal bucket.

Yeah, I'd agree with Pappy. If you do your prep work right, a day's rental should handle it. The good paint sprayers cost about $300+, and you're not likely to get enough use from one to warrant purchasing it outright. This is one of those cases of "the right tool for the job".

You can rent the sprayers mentioned above from big box stores and ACE.
