Bostitch Framing Nailer- can someone explain please.

I just picked up the bostitch framing nailer from HD. I'm confused, the display shows the nailer model being N88RH-1 but the user manual and the nailer itself shows the model number as F21PL. Why do they do this and are they model numbers for the same nailer? The box of senco nails I picked up with the nailer shows that it is compatible with N88RH-1 but does not mention F21PL so I just want to make sure. Will I need to get bostitch nails for this gun or will these do http://www.senco.com/pdf/fastener/Framing_Full_Head.pdf (20 degree nails).

    Thanks!

The N88RH uses 21 degree nails which is the same as the F21PL, I had to double check the website. The F21PL is a newer nailer so it probably won't be listed on nail boxes from other companies. But if you look at 21 degree bostitch nails they list both guns.

If it lists N88RH it should be okay for the F21PL. The only difference is the F21PL can use 1.5 inch nails for positive placement in metal hangers and the N88RH can't unless you get the optional tip.

If it will make you feel safer you could always call Bostitch Customer Service and ask them.
