Grinder Attachment?????? What is it used for.

This came used with a 8" grinder with a water attachment and this tool that I guess is used for shapening something but what? Anyone that has used this item or seen it used please give any info you can.

Looks like a jig to sharpen anything from plane blades to chisel blades to maybe jointer knives (well, 4" jointer anyway).
