    deal or no deal

I just bought a used grizzly G1018 8 inch jointer that appears to be in mint condition (told it was used only 3 times) for $500. I think I did o.k. on that one. However I also bought a 14" Delta band saw for $600 from the same guy. I have to pick them up on Saturday and can't for the life of me remember the model number. It's color is less grey than the ones I see in the stores now, almost white. I seem to recall the 28-xxx with a higher number than say the 206 but just don't know. It's got the enclosed base, comes with a fence, miter, mobile base and about 5 different blades all in great shape and one new blade (can't remember brand). Seller is selling for his father in law and doesn't know what brand the used blades are. It has standard blade guides. I see other Delta saws new for around this price but without all the accessories. Seller says owner has around $900 into saw and accesories and wouldn't/couldn't come down. I'm sure I'll know more how I did after I get it home. Just wondering what you all thought, how I did on these purchases. Will post BS model # Saturday

Reading my post I'm not surprised, nothing to go on without knowing which model right? Well, I picked up my new tools today and what I got was indeed an almost mint and hardly used Grizzly 1018 8 inch jointer with mobil base for $500 and a Delta 14 inch band saw model 28-269 anniversary edition 1hp in white which also includes mobile base, fence, miter attatchment and riser block along with 5 blades for $600. And guess what, hardly used, mint condition. These retailed for $850. I'm thinking I did O.K. Now to call the electrician to install 220v in my garage for the jointer. My shop just took on a whole new scope. Seller is mailing me manuals but I'm sure I'll have a heap of questions as I become familiar with these two.
    Thanks in advance.

Sounds like good deals to me. Especially if they are in 'near new' condition.
