    Bandsaw Table

Has anyone ordered this bandsaw table and fence from Rockler? If so, are you satisfied with it and has it proven durable? It is on sale right now for $80.00

I have one on my recently purchased Jet BS.

Seems relatively durable and quite usable, I normally run without it though as losing that 3/4" of capacity doesn't leave me with enough room. When I get a riser block for this BS, then that table will probably stay on a lot more.

It's approved by The Handyman Club of America, can't get much better than that! ;-D
Seriously, for $80 it looks like a good buy. You will probably need to modify the fence to allow for drift, but that isn't a stopper. As Stan said, the height loss does matter unless you have a riser.

I believe it does account for drift. If you look carefully on the t portion of the fence which rides along the track there are two knobs which you can turn in or out to control the drift angle.

            Yep, same one.

I never got around to trying it on the CB13F, will check later today and see if it will fit with the reduced throat space and let you know.

              THyman,
I checked the tabletop, and yes it should fit on the CB13F with no problems. From the kerf cutout to the left side of the table is 10-3/16", so there is plenty of room to fit.

I grabbed one last sunday for the same price. I was looking for a good fence, and this just happened to hit the sweet spot. I have it installed on an HF 14" saw. The only thing on the HF saw is that the table trunions are stamped steel. The table will flex the trunions if I'm not careful.

Purchased one four or five years ago with the resaw attachment. It's been used most everyday since. I did have to sand down a couple of spots at the edge of the track and one of the knobs for tightening mounting clamp stripped, but other tha that I've been happy with it.

Stan- it looks like you built your own high fence. How did you do that? I just picked the table up and have no desire to spend another $16 on a fence if I can DIY.

                      BigguyZ,
I just attached a piece of Rockler T-Track to the bottom of a 1"X5" piece of Alder that I had laying around. Simpler-n-cheaper would be to route a T-Track directly into the piece used for a fence, a T-Track bit would work -- but I have also used a picture frame keyhole bit, it just takes multiple passes to make it big enough for the bolts on the fence to fit into.

Just a quick update relating to the Rockler table and the Hitachi CB13F that was brought to my attention. Another member brought this to light.

The Miter bar that comes with the Rockler table is 3/4" in width, the CB13F miter track is smaller at 5/8".

So.... the miter bar would have be be replaced with other material which is 5/8" wide. Not a real big issue as the miter bar is mainly for holding the table in place (it is not used as a 'slide) and just about any material should work fine. (Which will leave you with a piece of 3/4" miter stock for other jigs and such).

Just wanted to post the information here so others with a CB13F would be aware of it.

Hey Stan, what's up with the Jet band saw? I bought my CB13F because of your enthusiam for it. =) But seriously did you find that the CB13F wasn't enough saw for you? Just curious.

Not at all, I put my CB13F through all kinds of torture tests () and it came through with flying colors. Power, resaw capability (with or without the riser block kit -- only difference is the depth of cut either way), repeatability/reliability of cut, etc -- all were at or beyond my expectations for a 12" bandsaw.

The Jet was just one of those things I stumbled into. Saw an ad in the local paper, went to look at it, and daggum it, it followed me home. It was sold to me without a motor, so I splurged and dropped in a Dayton 1HP "Farm Duty" motor. If I hadn't come across this deal -- I would still be more than happy with the performance of the CB13F.

Course if I come across a killer deal on a Grizzly, Shop Fox, Laguna, etc 18" to 20" bandsaw, that Jet don't stand much of a chance either.
