I liked this description for a TS on craigslist.

"this is an awesome old table saw. it is solid steel. this is designed to use the motor and belts to drive the blade. with this type you could easily put a gas motor on it and have a portable tablesaw. it comes with the fence, angle thing, motor, stand, belt, and cord."

My imagination is running wildly with the options for a gas engine.

I know there are people out there using small gas-powered engines for their shop equipment. Why they don't use a generator to power the motor I donno.
