    Should I kick myself??

    I was at an estate auction last Friday and among the power tools was a Foley Belsaw 12 inch planer/molder. Since I never heard of the name and was not sure if parts/support were available I passed. I think the winning bid was $200.00. Has anyone ever heard of this manufacture??

      I think Foley Belsaw went out of business in the early 90's. I think their equipment was heavy duty stuff.

      There is a Belsaw company in Calif. that has a reference for Foley-Belsaw parts.

          Perhaps the woodworking machinery may have gone bye bye, but I order grinding wheels to fit my Sharp All fairly often.
          These are excellent wheels. Not the typical stone type. These last a good long time. I have all the attachments for it. I use some of them from time to time. Every splitter I make gets sharpened on this thing.

              If you come across one of those, scarf it up. I had a Woodmaster. Similar to the Foley. It was setup like a planer, but you could change heads and make a moulder or a multiple cutter, or a drum sander out of it. It had a separate infeed motor on a variable switch. Very useful.

                      Ouch!!

                      That kick hurt!! OK, I am deffinately going to have to get a laptop to take BT3centrial mobile when I go to one of these auctions!! Geez!! within an hour I had the info. I see on that site they have all kinds of molding knives available also. Thanks for the info... I have some A** kicking to do!!

                          There's a Foley Belsaw 8" thickness planer / 6" joiner for sale on Craig's list in my area for sale. Guy says it sells for 850 new & he has some accessories. Did not say exactly which model or how old it is. I sent an email & asked for additional info. Any thoughts on if this is a good deal?

                              I'm going to look at the Foley Belsaw Planer / Joiner / Molder in the morning. Seller says it's 20 years old but still works great. He says he has the owner's manual & there is actually an owner's manual online. Would be nice to have an all-in-one unit. Keeping my fingers crossed that it's in good condition & maybe he'll accept a little less.
