    Avenger 6" dado setup chart

    My apologies for this taking so long, but here are the setups that I use with my avenger set to hit various widths. I added a couple today, since I finally got some shop time.

    Key:
    SP == Spacer
    CH == Chipper

    3/32 - N/A
    1/4" - 1/8" + 0.015 SP + 1/8"
    3/8" - 1/8" + 0.010 SP + 1/8" CH + 0.015 SP + 1/8"
    15/32" - 1/8" + 1/8" CH + 1/8" CH + 1/8"
    1/2" - 1/8" + 0.015 SP + 1/8" CH + 1/8" CH + 0.015 SP + 1/8"
    23/32" - 1/8" + 1/8" CH + 1/8" CH + 1/8" CH + 1/8" CH + 1/8"
    3/4" - 1/8" + 0.020 SP + 1/8" CH + 0.020 SP + 1/8" CH + 1/8" CH + 1/8" CH + 1/8"

      Thanks, Keith. I'll be using this, too. It will be interesting to see if it's consistent for everybody with this dado set.

            If the chart is right for 3/4", I've got a problem. I had to add the 3/32 and 1/16" chippers to even be OK for the undersized 3/4" plywood. Does the chart 3/4" stack work ok for everybody else? If so what could I be doing wrong??

              Thanks Keith! I printed that one and will give it a try with my set next time I am in the shop.

              Don, that difference sounds too much! Are you having similiar problem with the other settings? If so, then your chippers are way undersized

                Don, something seems to be wrong there.

                quick math shows that the 3/4" setup includes 6 - 1/8" blades, so you are only really making up the parts of the kerfs that overlap. You certanly shouldn't need to add the 3/32 and 1/16 chippers. Oddly, none of my setups required those 2 chippers.

                And you are all certainly welcome. These were all setup to be equal (my 3/4 was dead on) or just slightly larger than the dado by a few thousandths. They were all within 5 thoughsandths of an inch.

                  Well I agree that something seems wrong about my setup, problem I can't figure out what. Maybe I need to dig up the instructions and see if I can uncover something there, but can there really more than just putting the outer blades and chippers(& shims) on the arbor?
