HF Bessey clones?

    HF Bessey clones?

    I noticed in the most recent HF catalog that they have "Carpenter Clamps" which look like Bessey clones. It says they are "New". Has anyone seen these in person? How do they feel? I'll admit to owning quite a few HF clamps and they work well for certain applications so I'm curious about these.

    BTW, the Lot No. is 94115 but I couldn't find them on either of the HF websites. They are "regular" (ha!) $29.99 for the 24" but are on sale (ha!) for $19.99. They are on page 8 of catalog #1151 (which doesn't appear to be online). I don't see them in either #1141 or #1142 which are the current online flyers

      I wonder if this is maybe a regional deal? A week or so ago there was another thread about these clamps. Since that first thread was posted, I've received 2 new catalogs from HF and neither one had these clamps in them. Also, the catalogs I usually receive are numbered down in the hundreds, 879-B, 757-E, 654-D, etc.

          Given the recent Bessey clamp sales on Amazon, why bother with HF?

          You can buy a HF clamp for $19.99 plus shipping or get a Jorgensen clamp for $24.00 (shipping included).

              update: no update

              The HF circular #1151 is online now, but the item is "currently not available for display." Item no. is still not found on the websites.

              I asked about them in the HF store today. The clerk couldn't pull up the item in their computers either. "Maybe they are on a truck?" was his answer... The in-store selection of clamps is usually very limited anyway, so I hold little hope that they will ever get them in to even look at.

                  I agree with you, with the exception that Amazon never seems to run sales on the Bessey 12"ers. I would like some of those and figure if the quality is OK, HF ones would do provided I can get them in the store.

                  BTW- that link takes you to a $39 clamp, maybe they were on sale, but they must've got the price hike (1030 EST).
