    Cheers to Holbren

    Brian,
I see that you're getting into selling Whiteside as soon as you get your inventory.
I guess this is good news, but I am hoping you can confirm to all of us that you will continue to sell your own quality product that many of us have come to depend on.
My suspicion is that you wanted to expand your business and product offering to fully support a wider range of user including professional cabinet shops, etc. that may demand a heavier duty product.
I ordered those PC DT bits we recently discussed from Hartville, but know for sure that I will be ordering future WS bits from you (no local supplier) rather than others, as well as continuing to support your initial offerings.

I'm always happy to see an entrepreneur make in-roads that will grow the business.

Someday I hope to be there myself.
    Brian

Thanks for the comments Brian. I do plan on continuing to offer the Holbren branded product but felt there is a good market for higher end product too. I started the company because there was a big hole for value based product and will continue to service that market.

Some woodworkers need a better bit, some just like knowing they bought the best. Either way, I can service a broad market with Holbren and the higher end market with Whiteside. I have over 300 items on order from Whiteside and will hopefully have them next week.

If you noticed I am also adding LRH for shaper cutters too. My Whiteside rep also sells Tenryu so some of that stuff is on it's way. Nice saw blades and some lower cost items up to their Gold Medal.

Being Whiteside bought Forest City I will probably add their brad point bits but not sure, they are expensive. Maybe I can find a lower cost company at IWF in Atlanta.

Lastly, I'm in touch with the factory in Spain that makes all the jointer and planer knives for most of the companies out there. We'll see what happens there.

With a broader offering I can justify more advertising $$ which will not only sell the higher end product, but draw people to my Holbren branded product.

Sorry if this sounds like a sales pitch but I guess I answered your question. :-)

Lastly, if anyone want to sign up I will be offering regular specials on all these new products. Sign up is on the left side toward the bottom.

I've always thought your price & service made the Holbren bits the best of the value end, and the Whitesides the best of the high end....what a great combination

I'm in for the e-mail. Brian, do you know when the e-mails are going to be sent? Will it be the same day each week or more sporatic? The reason I ask is that I have limited access to e-mail and would like an idea of when I should be on the lookout for something.

Also, will any of the Whitesides be plunge (decorative groove) bits? I notice you don't sell any under the Holbren brand. Having made several purchases from you in the past, I don't mind waiting if they will be arriving within a month or so.

        Thanks,
        Greg

Out of the 300+ items there were no decorative plunge bits. I didn't think they were that popular. I asked Whiteside to review my list and they will get back to me today. If you want a price on anything specific, let me know.

I will be getting some catalogs too if anybody wants one.

The web price will be $63.20 plus free shipping for the 1-1/4" cutter length version. Whiteside limits the amount of discount you can give but the free shipping should help. The price should be the best you'll find anywhere.

After a meeting today with the Whiteside rep, I think I can take another 10% off that price as a promo without getting tossed before I even get started. If you're interested, email me because the web price will be as stated.

                sales@holbren.com

As far as the promo email, they will probably go out Sunday night being I have some time then. If you miss one due to vacation or other reasons, send me an email.

Brian, if that's a 1/2" cutter, you've sold one. E-mail sent, and thanks a ton!

Yes, that was for the 1/2" shank 1/2" diameter bit.

I put up the Whiteside catalog for anyone that wants it. It is 7MB.

I'm going to get an email out this weekend but the first Whiteside special will be on the 7 piece multi-profile sets 401 (1/2" shank) and 402 (1/4" shank). List price is $110 and I will be offering it for $77 which is the lowest I can go by the letter of the Whiteside law. But, as always, shipping is free. Price is updated for anyone interested. Future communication on specials will come via the subscriber list.

I am still trying to get all the bit data up so email any questions.

                          Thanks
