    Router Poll 4: Accessories?

Other than bits, what router-related accessories do you currently own or intend to acquire within the next six months?

I've excluded bits from the list of choices because (1) all of us have at least a few, and (b) most of us want more MORE MORE.

Also, the phrase "intend to acquire" means you can include stuff you will either buy, build yourself, or request as a gift. (Christmas is slightly more than six months out, but that's close enough to include if you already have an idea what you're going to ask for.)

If you have some of these items because they were included with a router purchase, go ahead and check the box ... the assumption being that you probably bought that specific router at least in part because it had some accessories you wanted. The exception to this is the item concerning an additional base; for those, check the box only if you bought (or play to buy) the extra base as a separate item, to use with a router you already owned.

Please check all that apply, and if you wish you can post a reply explaining what your "Other" choice is, if you use that one. As always, thanks very much for playing along at home!

My other is the spirocrafter set. Also a tenoning jig per Pat Warner design.
The only thing I don't already have is a set of PW bases.
Already been in touch with him regarding bases for 2 of my routers and the Bosch Colt trimmer. I intend to use it for miniature dovetails on my cheap jig and need the PC bushing adapter.

I wonder how the six people who have a router table, but no fence for it, use it? Do you always use a bearing-guided bit?

      Just curious.

They probably use the BT3 fence. Not really considered a "system".
Even my Freud fence barely qualifies IMHO. thus I'm keeping eyes wide open for FWW #144 that has PW micro-adjustable fence.

They will probably be buying something like an Incra or Jointech.

            My "other" :
            1. a horizontal router mount for my router table
            2. dual routers on the router table.

Didn't check the fence system since it was built as part of the router station. To me a fence system would be a .system such as the Incra bought as an add on accessory.

'Other' is a trammel for circle cutting.

I did the same as pappy. I have a home built one as is my table but thought you were referring to like a system you purchase.

That's how I interpreted it. My craftsman table came with a fence. I also made a fence for the table I built. I wouldn't call either a "fence system" or an accessory. Something aftermarket that costs $200 may be a fence system...to me at least - which means I probably got it all wrong. Just my .02

Got it. I use a shop-made fence that slips over an extra BT fence. It has a dust collection port and T-tracks. Not much else. I guess it really isn't a "system".

FWIW, y'all are on the right track about the fence thing. I assumed most purchased router tables would include one; I listed "fence" as a separate item to cover those who have, or plan to purchase, one of the fancy factory jobs as an upgrade, or have built or will build one such as the popular WOOD Magazine design several of us have.

All these polls I'm doing are highly unscientific, but this one moreso than most. I was uncertain how to set this one up, and wondered whether I ought to include the "next six months" provision at all. In the end I decided that with this poll, I'm just trying to get a general sense of how folks spend their router money on things other than bits and the routers themselves.

                        Hank,
Did you buy or make your horizontal mount?
I have seem some good ideas in pictures, but I haven't really found a decent plan for this anywhere.

I only said fence because I had to rebuild it to make it straight. I agree with Pappy on the definition of the fence.
