Air Cleaner needed. Any recent comparisons?

I am shopping for an air cleaner. I have been looking at the JDS and Jet models. Has anyone done a recent comparison of these models or have another recommendation?

Many of the posts on DC's and dust and my recent use of MDF have convinced me to get an air cleaner. So my lungs thank all of you. But I haven't decided which one? I couldn't find a recent thread or review. Any advice? I do not have a DC. But I am using a shop vac on many of the dust producing tools. My garage/shop is 18x16 with a peak of about 16'. I am leaning toward the JDS since it is made in the USA. Assuming that price and features are not that much different than the Jet models. Has anyone had experience with either of these models? Can you comment on ease of use, changing the filters, and cost of replacement filters? Thanks.

I thought I saw one a couple months back, maybe Wood Mag. Only thing I remember is I ended up buying the JET because of what I read. Seemed like a better choice for not much more, if any, money.

I'll take a look around later for an article.

I have a nice Delta multi-speed box unit with a built-in incremental timer and wireless remote. I've had it for five years, and it works great. Easy to change the two filters.

That said, don't rely on the filter to protect your lungs (or your eyes, either). Dust can get to YOU before it gets to the filter. There is no substitute for a good DC with a TIGHT mesh filter, and a good respirator for when you are working on the really nasty stuff. Keep safe.
...eight, nine, TEN! Yep! Still got all my fingers!

I can only comment on the JDS because that's the only one I've ever used but I'm very happy with it and it's made a huge difference in both the air quality and the ease of keeping the shop clean( at least as far as dust goes).

          Article needed

Brian, let me know if you find that article. I don't subscribe to Wood, but I pick up a copy once in a while. I thought I saw a air cleaner tool review a while back in one of the magazines I get. But I couldn't lay my hands on the right issue. (Or even remember which publication.) So let me know if you have better luck that me.
