    HVLP sprayer - which one?

I have already decided not to get a turbine system and narrowed my choices to three HVLP sprayers. I have looked at the Wagner Conversion gun and the following two HF units:

    http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...temnumber=7902

I have no idea what is the difference between the guns, but I am currently leaning toward purchasing one of the HF units because of the price. Wagner is my third choice. Besides the poor reputation of HF, can someone tell me what is different between the sprayers?

Make sure your compressor cfm output is enough to handle either sprayer.
I bought the Wagner Conversion sprayer because I have the Porter Cable 6-gal pancake with 2.6cfm. Works fine.
You can also do a search on this forum for lots of previous discussions on HVLP sprayers.

      Newbie,

Did you know Amazon has a 20% coupon on their sprayers and accessories? I think it's paints20.

I bought the Fuji Q4 Pro and even with the discount my wallet feels like it got hit with a mortar.

Check out this one. I have it (and so do many others) and it works great. The tip it came with is good for stains/finishes but I picked up a 2.1 or 2.2mm P-C tip on Amazon that fits this gun that is good for latex.

Edited: Maybe you should jump on this one quick at Anazon. With the PAINTS20 code you can get it for $44 w/ free shipping:

The Amazon Porter Cable unit uses 3.6cfm, which is more than some small compressors can easily sustain. And the HF unit is often on sale for not much more.

Thanks, I didn't know about the 20% off at Amazon. I guess I will go with the Wagner Conversion Gun for $110.

I have a 3hp compressor which puts out 4.9cfm @ 40psi. I'm not too sure about the HF sprayers but the Wagner should work fine.

I purchased the Wagner from Gleem Paint Co and received much advice and help both before and after the sale. Have been very happy with the Wagner. They also have modified the Wagner to use with pressure tanks. Link to Gleem below:
