    Something like this?

Probably a lot cheaper in the US.

You could make something smaller by making or buying a good size hood.

Got one at Sears for my Craftsman. Works pretty good. Clamps to the back of the table. Hooking DC to the dust port on the blade guard didn't work out well at all.
...eight, nine, TEN! Yep! Still got all my fingers!

I made one out of sheet metal. It is similar in shape to the one Sears sells. I screwed it to the base of the saw, so it only works for crosscuts, but it does a great job. I hardly notice any dust when using it. Without it though, there's sawdust everywhere.

When setting up my DC unit, I too had that question for my RAS (Craftsman). Ended up making a oblong box out of 1/4" plywood and used some bolts/washers/nuts through the frame of the stand. It is wide enough that it will catch most of the dust when doing miters.
Tried a couple of different positions for the 4" collector hose (the one on the end failed miserably as not enough suction). Finally ended up with 2 holes in the bottom and used a Y connector to join them. Overall, works pretty good.
Couldn't find an adaptor for the small dust port on top of the guard, so I taped it closed, and again, it works well.

I have a hood on my Craftsman RAS, but I am also thinking of adding some kind of splitter and running a hose to the blade guard. The new guard, the one with clear plastic lower portion, seems to retain dust a lot better.
