    No wonder they use UPS

It's no wonder every company on the net uses UPS to ship tools, etc.
I ordered Bowclamps (New Jersey) and they took 18 days to get here via Airmail.
I don't bring stuff in via UPS because they always hit us with brokerage charges even on low value shipments.
I don't mind waiting, but would have thought airmail would be quicker.
I can send something to Toronto and it gets there in 4-7 days without paying for priority.

Out of those 18 days 2 weeks went for customs. Toronto does not count, it is in Canada.

Yeah, customs is the hold up ever since they contracted it out. Have you noticed too that they have been opening every single package other than printed matter as well?

I absolutely refuse to deal with UPS due to their astronomical brokerage charges even on stuff that is exempt from duty. What exactly are they charging up to 400% of the item's value for? Filling out a green customs sticker that takes a real person 30 seconds to fill out? And even if you wanted to pay that fee, they will not ship unless you have a street address. None of the parcel services will. Well, guess what? Anyone not living in a city doesn't have one! And a very large part of the country has no home mail delivery either. We actually go to the post office in person to pick up our mail. I order lots of stuff from the US and have never had a single problem with the mail, but every single time it's been via any of the package services, yes it's quick, but a huge hassle and astronomically expensive.

So much for free trade, eh?

That's so sad. My 2 favorite companies.
Only thing missing is a Loomis (DHL) truck.

            that picture is funny.

I always thought it was because USPS always puts the price of shipping on the label. Imagine what Ebay would be like if everyone knew the actual shipping charges versus what they paid.

No kidding. I don't mind paying a seller a reasonable amount for packaging time and materials and the trip to the post office, but some of them are downright ridiculous about it.
