    Thickness Planer

I'm in the market for a thickness planer. I'm just looking for a 12" model. I would like to keep it under $300 if possible. I know that there is a Ryobi, Delta, Grizzly, and HF model that meet these specs. Any experience with these models? It seems that I have read good things about the Ryobi TP1300.

I'm basically just wanting to use it to plane rough sawn wood down to a workable size.

    Thanks,

Check this article out if you haven't already. I have the TP1300LS which rates decently with no complaints. Hope it helps.

I have the Ryobi and for $200, you can't beat it. Works like a champ. Had some trouble getting the dust collection piece to fit but other than that, it really delivers. Very smooth cuts, as long as you don't get too greedy and try to take too big of a bite.

I saw a Hitachi 13" planer with stand at Lowes (on their site too) for 299.
