    Nails for FR350A?

A little over a year ago I bought the subject nailer thinking I was going to build my own fence. We ended up installing a vinyl fence instead. I have had a few occasions where I could have used the nailer but first I find it hard to find (at HD or Menards) round head nails (mostly clipped head) and second you have to spend a fortune and buy a box of 2,500 nails.

I live in the Chicago area - has anyone found a source that has the 21 deg plastic fastened nails for a reasonable cost in smaller quantities?

    Thanks,

    Mike

It only hurts once to buy the box full and then they last for quite a while. I believe HD carries the Hitachi brand which will work perfect with your nailer. Haven't found them in smaller sized boxes.

      HD nails

I believe they also have Grip Rites. Check their website for more info.

If you only need a small quantity check your local tool rental store, you may pay an arm and leg for them though.

Amazon has them 500 for $15 or so. Here is a link.

What is the price at HD or Lowes for the larger quantities?

Check e-Bay. I have found some deals on open and partial boxes of plastic collated nails for the FR350A.

I always stock up on bulk and go from there. Right now I have 4+ cases of nails for mine.

Just picked up a clear plastic box if Grip Rites at Home Depot. It was a lone box in the screw section near all the other nailgun nails--500 Galvanized 3 1/4" for $11.99.

No idea where the "rest" of them were... seemed like the box was placed there just for me. Twice. The first time I found it, added to my cart w/ all the other stuff I'd accumulated shopping the store, then I left the cart for a while to get a plywood sheet and when I came back almost everything had been returned to stock already! So, I had to restock my cart!!!! I was sooooooo mad, I had to it mention here. Now YOU can be mad for having to read about it! But anyway, there was my box of 500 nails right on the shelf, alone again.

I've just always bought the big box. If I don't use 'em my dad will.

I just got that nailer this week from Amazon and ordered this box of nails as well. Had to have something to test it with. I'll bet a big box when the project calls for it.
