Mobile base recommendation

I find it difficult to move my zip code table saw around my small garage. It is sitting on a Sear's mobile base with two fixed casters. I would like to get a new mobile base with 4 swiveling casters. I rather buy one than built it. Do anyone know of a specific brand/model?

Sorry, I don't know of one. But I would not recommend it for your application.

Even when using double locking casters there's going to be give in them. I wouldn't want that going on underneath my table saw. I have other tools with non-locking casters and it doesn't freak me out. The tablesaw is different in that you're likely to have fairly large lumber being pushed through the saw. If the saw moves it could be an ugly sight.

FWIW - I use the Wood mag. home-built design, which has two fixed casters and two swivels. The swivels are engaged through a lift mechanism that settles on fixed feet once you're done moving the tool. At least one other person has used that design with lifts on both ends, allowing for the use of four swivellers.

Most have had good success with the Ridgid Huerc-U-Lift PLUS.
I can't get it up here, but there is lots of discussion here about how to set it up. Just do a search.

I just put a herculift under my Delta saw last weekend. 4 swivel wheels are excellent, and when the lift is set in the down position, the frame is resting on the floor - not the casters.

I am not sure you have the room under your saw for a Herculift. It would solve your problem though.

I don't think the Herculift will work. I have a hybrid saw with a full cabinet base.

I bought one from Sears model # 22303 for $79.00, installed it on my BT3100
and I love it! works great! Worth the money in my opinion.

Check out the HTC2000 mobile base. Woodcraft sells a copy as well. I have them under all my tools.

I have been using the Woodcraft mobile base under stands for my drill press, CMS, scroll saw and my Ridgid jointer.
