Solved my straight-edge issues

Stopped by Metal Supermarkets and picked up a 6 ft and 8 ft lengths of 1-1/2" x 3/16" aluminum FB. Perfectly straight from what I can see. Matched side to side they appear to have no gap. Will check it out

Cutting 4x8 sheets of plywood lengthwise accurately is a little difficult on TS.
I use my CS but have had problems finding a decent 8 ft straight edge.

That's a great idea. I did the same thing a while ago and it works great. I'm now looking to get some aluminum angle for router table/drill press table fences.

I use Al angle too for circ saw and router straightedges. On the drill press I use steel, just because I had it laying around. I work more with metal, so my DP table is bare steel most of the time. I drilled and threaded holes every inch in a 3 foot chunk, so I can bolt it to the table and also bolt a stop to it.
