New Blades for the HF 6" Jointer

Has anybody bought replacement knives for the HF 6" Jointer? I need a new set and was wondering if any body had any experience with this. Good or bad I would be interested in your feedback. I was thinking along the lines of a carbide or carbide tipped blades.

I bought the Freud C410 jointer knives for the HF jointer that some people here have recommended. Seem like very good knives.

Currently sells for $20 at amazon.

I also bought Freud blades from Amazon, but they were the C390 (6 1/16 X 3/4). About $16 plus shipping. They went straight in and seem to work fine.

For anyone that's interested I wound up buying the Amana carbide tipped blades from Magnate. They dropped right in and with some normal alignment I am now able to get nearly perrfect results. It appears that the big weakness in any of the HF tools is the quality of the blades. I know this has been pointed out before but it is probably worth repeating. I have the HF 14' Bandsaw and had the same experience. As soon as I replaced the stock blade is was like a different tool. For anyone contemplating buying any HF equipment you should probably factor the cost of a decent blade.
