Proper angle for Inca 410 knife sharpening?

Hello. I'm using the "Scary Sharp(tm)" method to sharpen my knives in
my Inca 410 jointer/planer. The manual doesn't indicate the proper
angle. I guess I had assumed they were 45-degree because when I was
shopping for jointer/planer knives, all of the knives I ran into were
45-degrees. However, it would appear that the knives I have were
previously sharpened more steeply, about 60-degrees. Is this
    correct? Or were they mis-sharpened?

I want to get it right.

    Thanks!
    Phil

Everything I've read in a quick search said 35 degrees. I'll check my Tormek book and get back to you.

Jim, I think you're right. First of all, I had the sixty wrong because I was "visualizing" the angle incorrectly. I should have said thirty. But when I put the two blades together, as if assembling a mitered joint, the resulting angle is around seventy degrees.

So I did some research on google and found a number of people that said they do grind to 35-degress.

So, does the Tormek book list angles for various machines? That is pretty kewl!

I wish I had a Tormek. I spent the better part of last night sanding just one blade, and have more work. I need to get some more agressive paper. I'm new to this and I was using information in the Veritas catalog, which said 1000-grit paper would remove metal rather quickly from planer blades. So I purchased from Rockler the Scary Sharp system w/ fine paper (down to 800-grit). However, my blades have obviously been abused for some time and it was taking a long time to remove some perpendicular grinding marks.

So I started using 100-grit normal sandpaper and that isn't really going any faster. I don't think it is hard enough to cut the metal. I have to go back to Rockler this morning and get some coarse paper for the kit. Hopefully it will move faster. But I guess spending a couple of days the first time I do this isn't too bad. And I'm stopping and checking my work a lot.

Can't wait to see how this thing cuts with good, sharp blades. It cut pretty well with dull blades, so it should only get better.

So if the Tormek manual has a definitive answer I'm all eyes. Thanks for your help!
