    Craftsman 12" Band Saw Sander #113 24350

Does anyone know anything about this saw? I picked one up for $10 at a yard sale today. Obviously needs a good tuning but I think I made out pretty good. Solid cast iron table (read no cross hatch pattern on bottom.) Stand that's in good shape. Very little corrosion on the table.

    Thanks,

Atleast it's not one of those infernal 3 wheeler bandsaws

Get some timberwolf blades. No craftsman, vermont american, no joes best -- timberwolf -- Woodcraft or online at PSI.

You know, I would have bought the thing for 2-3 times that. I love yard sales and you cannot go to dinner for the price of your new saw. If you don't like it, you can put it on the driveway with a "for sale" sign. Congratulations. One question I would have been interested in: How are tires?

I'm not sure of the model number but I had a 12" craftsman bandsaw for years and it did a good job, after I started using Timberwolf blades as suggested earlier.
Aside from the obvious size limitations you would have with any brand, I had no trouble with it. I have since moved on to a 14" Delta X5 but the fellow who bought my old craftsman continues to use it enjoyably today.
Good deal for you! Keep it tuned up with good Timberwolf blades on it and I think you will enjoy it for years.

          Tires

There isn't any dry rot on the tires. Honestly, I haven't been able to dig into it just yet. Probably won't for awhile. We have a bumper crop of Dandelions going that I'm trying to fight for one thing.

Will hold off until I can pickup a good blade before I do too much with it. I did turn it on and the motor runs. Frankly for $10, I didn't care if the motor was good or not!

Went looking for baby stuff and came home with a 12" band saw. Got to love that. Wife was amused but I doubt if she gets the same kick out of it that I do! lol
