    Shaper knives on a router

Any one have experience on using a shaper "bit" on a router? Obviously would be limited to the smaller cutters and only on a hefty router. I am thinking of building new sash for some old double hung windows after getting quotes of over $110 per piece from a local window co. looked around for router bits and and found prices on two piece sets (style and rail) rather high (over $100) and one piece reversible sets don't appear accruate without lengthy set up time.
Alternative might be a used or small (cheap) new shaper but I only have 5 window to build (for now)
I saw a shank in the new MCL catalog for such a thing and this led to my idea but seems like may have drawbacks.

I would be leary of shaper cutters on the higher speed router.

      Jim,
cutter speed was one of the safety concerns that I had. I think it would only work with a variable speed router. the MCL catalog mentions this. (#282 pg 33)
      thanks for your feedback

BTW the $84.95 bits only handle stock up to 1 inch. Window sash is ususally 1-3/8 or 1-1/2.
Oops. looked further past your link, they do have #8894 (2 pc) for $85 which cut to 1-1/2 inch
