    Delta 12" DP

My press started a racket yesterday while I was sanding.

I found this on the website:

    10" & 12" Variable Speed Drill Press

    Problem: Motor pulley wobbles excessively
Solution: The inner sleeve of the upper half of the pulley may have become dislodged. It can be re-inserted and secured with a set screw through a threaded hole

Has anybody done this yet or is there another cure?

    Thanks
    Frank

      Hi Frank,

I have the DP350, and I have had three problems with it. The second was with the back pulley, and sounds similar to what you're describing. I can't help you much with the fix because it was repaired under warranty (with two days left on the warranty period!).

However, a very recent thread on Woodnet about the DP350 includes more information about others who have had the problem, including one guy (jarhead0531) who seems to have fixed it himself. Here's the link:

      Hope this helps,

      Joe

This DP gets good reviews, from what I've seen. But is it to be avoided due to quality issues? Do many other DP350 owners have similar experiences?
          Never met a bargain I didn't like.
