    A Small Tool Gloat

About a month ago I gave an Aquarium and some fish to my Son's best friend and his family. I did not expect anything in return, I wanted the tank and fish gone so I could get bigger one. He gave me a Ryobi AP10 planer. It was in pretty bad shape, it ran but needed work. I tore it apart and cleaned it up and as I did so I came up with $150 of parts that needed to be replaced. So I put it off because of other thing and then got sick.

This morning at 3 am while going through a coughing fit and waiting for the Codeine Cough meds to kick in I got on craigslist for Sacramento and did a search on planer up poppd a New Ridgid TP1300LS planer for $200 found out it was less that 6 blocks from my house, got a hold of the person and made arrangements too see it an 11am at 11:10 am it was in my shop. The gals boyfriend cheated on her and this was his birtday present. So now I have a new 13" planer with all the goodies. I have been grinning ever sence. Will not use it untill I get over this cold/flu. As for the Ryobi I will reassemble it wrap it in plastic and put it away and maybe fix it at a later date and give it back to my son's friend. Sorry this is so long but the whole stroy had to be told. Some time you do get paid back for doing somthing nice, I felt ok with the Ryobi and fixing it but this is a better deal.

And the REALLY good news is that there will probably never be a shortage of cheating boyfriends bringing about deals like this. After all, the only thing better than grudge sex is a grudge tool selloff!

Good deal and excellent planner. One thing Thom and I found out pretty quick though hook it up to a good shop vac. Without good DC it does not clear chips well. Been using mine for about 1 1/2 years. Love it. Pat

couldn't wait untill I got over this cold/flu crap I have. So last put on a resperator and hooked up the shop vac and ran a couple pieces from the Lumber Liquitdators woodworker pack. How sweet it was and the shop vac did a great job with the chips. Can't wait till I feel better to really attacking the LL lumber pack to see what I have. Now if I can find a cheater whooes love is selling his Jointer I will be in business. I have decide to keep the good Karma going to fix up the the Ryobi and give it back to my son's friend. This guy doesn't have much and is trying over come some mistakes he made that landed him in the joint. He has been a good friend to my son who is overcomming drug addiction and the have helped each other get their act together. Besides I like most men like a challenge in fixing things up. So when my SS check gets here I will order the parts. The money I used to buy the planer was the money I had saved to go to the woodworkers show here this weekend. I wanted to see David Marks and buy some goodies. But with the Dr. appt. friday and not feeling good I passed and thought I would go Saturday or Sunday so I guess I am not going this year, maybe down the the Bay Area the end of the month for the show there.
Well almost time for the races, anybody but the Bushes.
