    Wiring Schematic for Dayton 5K960E

You may have seen the slow turning lathe that was on eBay a couple of weeks ago -- it was designed for turning up to 7' table tops. -- We'll I got it today and for some odd ball reason the lathe turns clockwise. The faceplate has an additional #10 screw that gets tightened into a recess on the spindle to keep it from running off the shaft..

All that aside I'd like to reverse the direction of rotation.. According to the Grainger site this motor is CW/CCW - and all I need to do is reverse the wires on the starting capacitor..

All the wires are black -- so the NEMA standard color coding doesn't apply - I've got a couple of wires labled p1-p3 and a couple others beginning with T (it's a multi voltage single phase motor)..

Can anybody decipher this wiring mess and tell me which wires I need to swapp to make this thing run the other direction....

Not sure about the "P" labeled wires, but the standard for motor terminals is "T".
    Terminal ... "T" get it?
If you have a multi-tester with an ohm or resistance position, put it across the leads. T to T should show a resistance reading; the other leads if they are a capacitor will show a quick deflection and then slowly move back down.
BEWARE you can "load" up a capacitor this way so don't touch the leads until you short them to each other... screwdriver across wires or?

Hope this helps, if all else fails go ask at Granger, someone may know

PS do all this testing with the power off and all leads disconnected from any power or anything else.

      Found a Helpful link

I followed the instructions here -- there is other information in powering a lathe so I thought I'd pass it along -- I swapped T5 and T8 and now my lathe turns in the proper direction... Now, how big of a piece of wood am I going to try to spin on this thing 1st time out...
