    And Back at the Batcave...

I am really stoked on the Ryobi One+ Lanyards. I now have all of my cordless tools out of the carrying cases, off the workbench, handy to get at, and out of the way in my tiny shop. The lanyards also keep dust and stuff out of the empty battery compartments. The plastic cases will most likely go to recycling and I will have a bunch of room under the one workbench for real storage.

I was really stoked about them awhile back until I discovered the hard way that they don't fit the Craftsman cordless 18V made by Ryobi.
What a stupid thing to change the battery fit just that little bit.

I'd bet that is a Home Depot/Sears demand. (nt)

Probably due to the exclusive contract with HD.

I'll just say that minor changes are sometimes made for the better. I am up to 8.0 in the Shark Guard line and the improvements I have made have not always been backward compatible. Now I am a small maker, but Craftsman has a contract with Ryobi. Ryobi developed the new line. Its up to craftsman to update the specs. Just an opinion, of course, but I personally would love to see some streamlining of battery compatibility.

Pretty slick, Jim. I think I'm going to copy a good portion of that idea. Have a bunch of the Ryobi cordless and they're taking up way too much cabinet space.

          Thanks for the idea
