Ideas needed on circular saw guide

I just purchased a straight edge circular saw guide. Has anyone made any router or hand held saw guides for these. I need some ideas. I thought that it would come with some doc's with ideas. No luck.

I'm contemplating using plexi-glass since it is glue-able and I can get it locally.

    Any more ideas?

    Thanks

Are you talking about the guides like the All-In-One's, or the Tru-Grip's? If so, they already have router plates as accessories...

    Edit:
(Sorry - I just re-read your post, and you were asking about making them, not buying - haven't gone there yet)

      Joe,

I have one of those $18 metal straight edge guides. I just measured over from my circular saw blade, and I know that it is exactly 1 1/2 inches to the blade, so I just set the guide 1 1/2 over from the line, smae deal with the router.

The commercial plates are pretty much all

HDPE plastic. Your local plastics store should have some for pretty cheap.

You could check out a retail tool store to see what they look like/measure and decide if you are going to save time/effort by cutting one yourself.

There are three or four manufacturers that make them as mentioned above.

Cutting boards are made of the same stuff. I have the Tru-Grip system and the saw plate looks just like a Wal-Mart cutting board with a lip cut in it.

I would measure the saw blade to the side of the base, and if they are parallel, just use the saw against the guide. If they arn't, you need a guide to hug the fence, and make the blade parallel to the movement of the saw. I would have it hook over the guide. Also, make a setup block equal to the offset from the blade to the side of the circular saw, to make setup easy.
