I recall that someone on here had did a review of the microplane sanding disc and was wondering how they were holding up. I searched but couldn't find the topic. I assume it got lost and starved to death in the great migration.

microplane sanding discs
I don't post here very often but I could not pass this time. I purchased a course, medium, and fine set of disks and tried them out on cutting boards. They worked ok for about ten minutes each and then totally crapped out. By that I mean the holes in the disks plugged up with dust and chips and created high spots in the disks, one of which damaged the ROS hook and loop backing pad. The disks cut aggressively which made controlling the ROS very difficult. Once control technique was established, the holes plugged, and then the disks would no longer adhere to the ROS backing pad and just spun off. Even with the fine disk, the surface of the cutting board was unacceptably rough. This is a product best avoided.Comment

Been There, Did That, Didn't Like It
I received the 3 disk combo set as a Christmas present. I found the medium and coarse cut very agressivly and were hard to control. They left scratches on the workpiece. The fine barely cut at all. I haven't thrown them out, but can't seem to find a reason to use them. Definately not like the previous products by this name.Jim Frye
