    Decent HF finish nailer?

    Hi guys,

Does anyone have a decent HF finish nailer? Something in the 15/16ga range that has worked well? I don't want to spend $160 for the Stanley/Bostitch at Lowes.

    Any information is appreciated.

I have the HF 31317 16 ga that's on sale now for $39.99.

It have not used it a lot, but it's done a good job for me.

Plusses: Low cost, hasn't jammed, reasonably light, takes a good range of nail lengths.

Minuses: Hardly Fine fit and finish, nail head dimple is a bit large, have to use air pressure to adjust depth.

It seems that in general the HF nailers are decent. I started with a PC brad and 16 g nailer as well as a ridgid 16 g nailer but all my latest nailer/stapler purchases have been from HF since i started reading feedback on them. I haven't had any problems, I have the 18g brad, 1/4 crown stapler and the 20 g 1/2 crown stapler. If you get them on sale you really can't beat em for the money.

        Jeremey:

I bought a HF Contractor Series #47612 15g finish nailer last week. I haven't used it on a project yet, so I can't give you a good evaluation, but it looks like it will meet my needs.

It was on sale at retail stores last week for $79, minus 10% off coupon. It is still @ $79 on-line. Some retail stores will match on-line price, and the 20% off coupon link below reduces the cost to less than $65. Coupon expires today.
