    Any opinions on the JDS DC?

    Any thoughts on this DC. Was thinking about the HF plus an upgraded canister but then this caught my eye especially because of the 75off promo at amazon.

    JDS 14040 Dust-Force 1250 CFM with 1 Micron Bag

    I really like the shipping info...."Ships in Original Packaging:
    This item ships separately and in the original manufacturer's packaging. There will be shipping labels attached to the outside of the package. The contents of this package cannot be concealed. See Product details for more information "

    It's like they know the troubles we go through with the wives/girlfriends when another tool arrives in the mail.

    You might want to look also at the Delta 50-760. It's similarly priced right now at Amazon (although not shipping until April). It has a clear lower bag, so you can see what and how much is inside, and has a mid-mounted motor with a reversible housing, so you can point the inlets up or down. Unit mounts in a rollaround cart. Downside: It takes up more space than the JDS, due to a much larger upper bag (no air exhausts through the lower bag).
    ...eight, nine, TEN! Yep! Still got all my fingers!

      Hmm finally cost $225 for the JDS
      HF 2hp DC $160-20% final cost $128 (this tool is considered one of HF's jewels)
      add Wynn cartridge $90 for a total $218

      Save $10
      Cartridge has better flow characteristics
      Great filtering
      Not as tall(may fit under a shelf)
      More time between cleanings
      Opinions are like gas;
      I don't mind hearing it, but keep it to yourself if it stinks.

        I own the JDS and it is much better in the quality dept than the HF which I previously owned. It also comes with a clear bottom bag and a 1 micron bag for the top. I wouldn't buy a filter for your dust collector unless you are sure that you want it. They are difficult to clean and can clog very easily. I bought the JDS to upgrade my HF with Wynn conversion kit. The filter clogged quickly and cleaning it was difficult. The Wynn filter has no crank to clean the pleats either. The HF is no more powerful than the JDS in my opinion. Having used both, I believe the JDS is simply better.
