Best Air Compressor for the buck

    Ok guys,

I know there are things in the back log, but times change. I'm looking at air compressors again.

This isn't going to be a shop dedicated unit. It will have to be mobile to deal with everything in my life right now. I am no wimp so I can load a bit of a load ( I handle 94lb bags of cement all the time). And don't even mention oil-free air compressors.

Uses- mainly air guns. Would like a small impact wrench occasionally. Might consider a small hvlp setup for finishing ease. Don't know that I'd try an air powered random orbit sander, but those are cool/handy.

How much do I want to spend? $25! But I'm realistic. Really not interested in going over $400, and want to get a steal. But I want a machine I can use and abuse and it'll laugh and ask me, "Is that all you got, punk?"

I'm ready to hear your thoughts, suggestions, chides, jokes, insults, abuses, invitations, insinuations, wait....err....different forum.

    Thanks to all!

Sorry Jeremy but no such compressor exists in your price range that will fulfill all your wants.

      Try Schulz compressors

      http://cgi3.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...=schulz-outlet

I have one but mine is sitting in storage since we moved. I have not used it other than switch and run some tests. It is oil lubricated and belt driven. I cannot tell how it will work under heavy use. But from all my search, schulz is very well regarded for their compressor pumps.

Go for a horizontal 20-30 gallon 3.5-5 hp cast iron head with wheels it is portable and can power 90% of the tools out there.
